Description: The Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) is an independent, nonprofit, nonpartisan association representing current, former, and retired commissioned and warrant officers and their surviving spouses from all U.S. uniformed services. MOAA’s mission is to preserve and protect earned benefits and quality-of-life for service members, veterans, families, and survivors through advocacy, education, leadership, and member services. Type: Nonprofit veterans service organization (federally chartered; national association with state councils and local chapters) Policies: Advocacy on military pay and compensation, retirement and survivor benefits, TRICARE and VA health care, military family and caregiver support, education and scholarship programs, career transition and employment for veterans, force structure and readiness issues, and protections against cuts to earned benefits. Funding: Primarily funded by membership dues, individual donations, corporate sponsorships and partnerships, foundation and charitable grants, event revenue, and income from publications and services. Affiliates: The MOAA Foundation and the MOAA Scholarship Fund, hundreds of state councils and local chapters, and a nationwide membership of active duty, National Guard, Reserve, retired and former officers and surviving spouses from all uniformed services.
