The Minnesota Association of Wheat Growers (MAWG) is a statewide membership organization founded in 1975 to represent and advocate for Minnesota wheat producers at the state and federal levels. Headquartered in Red Lake Falls, Minnesota, MAWG works to promote profitable wheat production, support agricultural research and education, and advance policies that strengthen domestic and international markets for Minnesota wheat.
MAWG advocates for farm policy, crop insurance, wheat research funding, agricultural appropriations, market development and export promotion, plant breeding and disease research, rural economic development, and state and federal legislation affecting wheat prices, farm profitability, and producer interests.
Primarily funded through membership dues, program service revenue, and related agricultural activities; separate checkoff dollars support the Minnesota Wheat Research and Promotion Council.
