Mississippi Rice Council

About the Organization

The Mississippi Rice Council is a statewide organization representing rice farmers and industry stakeholders in the Mississippi Delta. The council works to advance the interests of Mississippi’s rice producers through advocacy, industry coordination, market development, and collaboration with research and promotion partners. It convenes regular meetings to address production, trade, and policy issues affecting the state’s rice sector.

Policy Goals

Agricultural policy related to rice production, federal farm policy, crop insurance, trade and export promotion, commodity research funding, conservation programs, and state and federal legislative and regulatory issues impacting rice growers

Funding

Producer support through membership involvement and coordination with commodity promotion and research funding mechanisms
