The National Asian American Pacific Islander Mental Health Association (NAAPIMHA) is a national nonprofit organization that promotes the mental health and well-being of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities through advocacy, capacity-building, culturally responsive training, public education, and community-driven services.
Advocacy for culturally and linguistically appropriate behavioral health services, data disaggregation for AAPI populations, increased federal and state behavioral-health funding, Medicaid/Medicare access and parity, workforce development and training for community providers, suicide prevention and anti-stigma initiatives, and support for community-based service infrastructure.
Primarily funded by a mix of foundation grants, government grants and contracts, philanthropic donations, and fee-for-service contracts for training and technical assistance.
Works in partnership with state and local AAPI mental health coalitions and community-based organizations, professional groups such as the Asian American Psychological Association, and federal/state behavioral health agencies and advocacy networks.
