The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) is the largest professional membership organization for social workers in the United States, founded to advance social work practice, promote professional standards and ethics, advocate for social justice and public policies that improve the well-being of individuals, families, and communities, and provide members with education, resources, and practice support.
Typically advocates on federal and state policies related to mental and behavioral health access and funding, Medicaid and Medicare policy, child welfare and family services, aging and long-term care, social work licensure and workforce development, anti-poverty and income supports, civil rights and anti-discrimination, criminal justice and reentry, and evidence-based social service delivery.
