The National Black Justice Coalition (NBJC) is a Washington, D.C.–based civil rights organization founded in 2003 that works to advance the rights, health, and social welfare of Black lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and same-gender-loving (LGBTQ+/SGL) people and people living with HIV through federal policy advocacy, research, education, and coalition building. Its stated mission is to end racism, homophobia, and LGBTQ+/SGL bias and stigma.
Advocates on federal and state policies at the intersection of racial justice and LGBTQ equity, including anti-discrimination and employment protections, health equity and HIV/AIDS prevention and care, safe and inclusive schools/anti-bullying, family and relationship recognition, criminal justice reform and anti-violence initiatives, economic justice, and culturally competent public services.
