Description: The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) is the leading U.S. trade association for companies and professionals that rely on business (general) aviation. Founded in 1947 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., NBAA represents thousands of member companies and provides advocacy, safety and operational guidance, workforce development, training, and industry events to foster an environment in which business aviation can thrive. Type: 501(c)(6) non‑profit trade association and industry lobbying organization Policies: Advocacy on airspace and airport access, FAA modernization and air traffic control policy, aviation safety and security rules, taxation and excise issues affecting business aircraft, infrastructure and funding for airports, environmental and sustainability policy for aviation (including alternative fuels), workforce development and training, and international aviation regulatory harmonization. Funding: Primarily funded by member dues and subscriptions, revenue from events and exhibitions (notably the annual NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition), sponsorships and exhibitor fees, paid training and professional services, and sales of publications and data products. Affiliates: Member companies and partners include business aircraft operators, fractional and charter providers, manufacturers and suppliers (examples: major OEMs and avionics/systems suppliers), allied organizations such as AOPA, GAMA, EAA and volunteer groups like Angel Flight and Air Care Alliance; senior leadership includes President & CEO Ed Bolen and a board composed of corporate aviation users and industry executives.
