About the Organization

The National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) is a U.S. trade association representing independent community pharmacies and the pharmacists who own and operate them. NCPA’s stated mission is to support the economic viability and clinical contributions of independent pharmacies through advocacy, education, business services, and practice resources.

Policy Goals

Advocacy on pharmacy reimbursement and payment policies (including Medicare Part D and Medicaid), regulation and accountability of pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) and DIR fees, independent pharmacy economic sustainability, scope-of-practice and pharmacist provider status, immunization and public-health services offered by community pharmacies, drug-pricing transparency, controlled-substance dispensing policy and opioid stewardship, telepharmacy and practice modernization.

Funding

Primary funding comes from membership dues paid by independent pharmacies, event and conference revenue, sponsorships and exhibitor fees, educational program and publication sales.

Affiliates

State independent pharmacy associations, the NCPA Foundation, independent pharmacy cooperative groups and networks of pharmacy owners and small-business advocates.
