About the Organization

The National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges (NCJFCJ) is a nonprofit membership organization that provides education, training, technical assistance, research, and policy guidance to judges, court personnel, and allied professionals working in juvenile and family courts. It works to improve court practices, promote fair administration of justice, and advance the safety, well‑being, and permanency outcomes for children, youth, and families.

Policy Goals

Juvenile justice reform; child welfare and dependency court practice and improvement; family law and custody issues; delinquency prevention and diversion; trauma‑informed and evidence‑based court practices; judicial education and court system collaboration with child welfare, behavioral health, education, and community partners.

Funding

Membership dues and program fees, federal and state grants and contracts, foundation and philanthropic grants, and training and conference revenue.

Affiliates

State and tribal juvenile and family courts and court improvement programs; federal agencies involved in child welfare and juvenile justice such as the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and the Children’s Bureau; national legal and child welfare organizations and private philanthropic partners.
