The National Pacific Islander Education Network (NPIEN) is a nonprofit organization focused on improving educational outcomes for Pacific Islander students and strengthening Pacific Islander communities through scholarships, mentoring, educator development, conferences, cultural programming, and community health and resource initiatives.
Advocates for educational equity for Pacific Islander students, culturally responsive curriculum and pedagogy, increased access to scholarships and college/career resources, school-community partnerships, K–12 and higher education supports, youth mentoring and leadership development, and community health and immigrant support services tied to schools.
Primarily funded by membership dues, individual and corporate donations, event fundraising (conferences and tournaments), sponsorships from local businesses and community organizations, and grants.
Works with local and regional partners such as Pacific Islander Health Partnership, Teachers Association of Long Beach, Pacific Island Ethnic Art Museum, Pasifika Financial Corporation and a network of community sponsors and board members including local Pacific Islander educators and community leaders.
