About the Organization

The National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) is the lobbying and political advocacy arm of the National Rifle Association of America. Established in 1975, it works to protect and advance Second Amendment rights by influencing federal, state, and local legislation related to firearms ownership, hunting, and self-defense.

Policy Goals

NRA-ILA advocates for legislation that protects gun ownership rights, opposes firearm restrictions and bans, supports concealed carry reciprocity, promotes stand-your-ground and self-defense laws, and resists expanded background check requirements and firearm registration measures.
