The National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) is a nonprofit membership association that represents the interests of volunteer fire, EMS, and rescue services in the United States. It provides advocacy, training, resources, and support for volunteer first responders and the communities they serve.
Public safety and emergency response policy, firefighter and EMS workforce issues, volunteer recruitment and retention, responder health and safety, training and certification, disaster preparedness, grants and funding for fire and EMS services, and legislation affecting volunteer fire and rescue organizations.
Primarily supported by membership dues, corporate sponsorships, donations, and grants.
