About the Organization

The North Carolina Harm Reduction Coalition (NCHRC) is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing public health and individual rights by implementing harm reduction strategies. Its mission is to reduce the negative consequences of drug use, including overdose, HIV, and hepatitis C, through syringe services programs, overdose prevention education, naloxone distribution, advocacy, and policy reform.

Policy Goals

Drug policy reform, overdose prevention initiatives, syringe services program authorization, HIV and hepatitis C prevention, criminal justice reform related to substance use, and expanded access to naloxone and treatment services.

Funding

Private donations, foundation grants, government public health grants, and program-based funding.

Affiliates

National Harm Reduction Coalition, Remedy Alliance, North Carolina public health departments, and community-based harm reduction organizations.
