About the Organization

The New England Center and Home for Veterans (NECHV) is a Boston-based nonprofit that provides housing, case management, behavioral health, vocational training, meals and other supportive services to veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Founded in 1989 (originally as the Vietnam Veterans Workshop), NECHV operates permanent and transitional housing, outreach programs and specialized services such as a Safe Haven and SSVF delivery to help veterans achieve stable, independent living.

Policy Goals

Typically supports policies that increase funding for veteran homelessness prevention and supportive housing (including SSVF and HUD-VASH), behavioral health and substance-use services for veterans, employment and training programs, expansion of community-based VA partnerships, and state-level veteran service funding and housing stabilization programs.
