The New England Fishermen’s Stewardship Association (NEFSA) is a bipartisan, nonprofit organization representing wild-harvest commercial fishermen in New England. It works to preserve the region’s fishing heritage, promote sustainable fisheries management based on sound science, and protect the economic viability of coastal communities and domestic seafood production.
NEFSA advocates for federal and state fisheries management policies, sustainable harvest limits, regulatory reform, ocean conservation practices led by fishermen, U.S. food security, and opposition to offshore wind development and other ocean industrialization that it argues threatens commercial fishing access and livelihoods.
Primarily funded through donations, sponsorships, merchandise sales, and contributions from commercial fishermen and allied businesses.
Aaron Williams; Dustin Delano; Bonnie Brady; Jason Joyce; collaborates with regional fishing industry groups such as the Maine Lobstermen’s Association.
