The New Mexico Acequia Association is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting and promoting the historic acequia system of community-managed irrigation in New Mexico. Its mission is to preserve acequia water rights, support local food systems, and sustain the cultural and environmental heritage of traditional Hispanic and Indigenous farming communities.
