About the Organization

The New York Association of Conservation Districts, Inc. (NYACD) is a non-governmental, nonpartisan organization that represents New York State’s 58 Soil and Water Conservation Districts. Formed in 1947 and incorporated in 1958, it advocates for the conservation, restoration, and responsible management of soil, water, and related natural resources, and provides education, coordination, and policy representation at the state and federal levels.

Policy Goals

Natural resource conservation, soil and water protection, agricultural best management practices, flood mitigation, watershed management, nonpoint source pollution reduction, climate resiliency, environmental education, and state and federal funding for conservation districts

Funding

Membership dues from county Soil and Water Conservation Districts, state and federal conservation program support, and related grants
