OCA-San Mateo Chapter

About the Organization

OCA–San Mateo Chapter is the local chapter of OCA–Asian Pacific American Advocates, a community-based nonprofit that promotes the social, political, and economic well-being of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) residents in San Mateo County through civic engagement, leadership development, public education, and anti-discrimination advocacy.

Policy Goals

Civic engagement and voter outreach, anti-discrimination and civil rights protections, immigrant and language-access services, education equity and student leadership, representation of AAPI communities in local government and public institutions, community safety and police accountability, and public outreach on issues that affect AAPI residents.

Funding

Primarily membership dues, individual and community donations, local fundraising events, and occasional grants or sponsorships.

Affiliates

OCA–Asian Pacific American Advocates (national), other OCA local chapters, and local AAPI community and civil-rights organizations with which the chapter commonly partners.
