About the Organization

Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company (OBS) is a Florida‑based thoroughbred auction company founded in 1974 that operates public sales (two‑year‑olds in training, yearlings and online auctions) and related services to support the regional breeding, training and racing economy; OBS also operates affiliated feed and wagering/card‑room businesses and promotes Ocala as a center of the thoroughbred industry.

Policy Goals

Typically supports legislative and regulatory positions that benefit the commercial thoroughbred industry, including pari‑mutuel and gaming regulation, agricultural land‑use and zoning favorable to horse farms, tax and economic development measures for breeders/owners, equine health and welfare standards, transport and biosecurity rules, and policies affecting livestock feed and sales operations.
