People’s Action

Description: People’s Action is a U.S. progressive grassroots political network that builds power for poor and working people through community organizing, electoral work, and national policy campaigns. Formed in 2016 through a merger of several long‑running community organizing networks, the organization advances an agenda of racial, economic and climate justice and supports state and local member groups to run issue fights and candidate campaigns. Type: 501(c)(4) nonprofit national grassroots political network (with a sister 501(c)(3) institute and affiliated PAC activity) Policies: Typically pursues legislative policies on economic justice and anti‑poverty measures, housing and tenants’ rights, Medicare/Medicaid and health care access, climate and environmental justice, labor and worker protections, criminal justice reform and decarceration, immigrant rights, voting rights and democratic reform.
