PROMO (PROMO Missouri) is the statewide LGBTQ+ public policy and advocacy organization in Missouri that works to defend and expand legal protections, mobilize supporters, and advance health, youth, and transgender justice for LGBTQ+ Missourians.
Advocacy for LGBTQ+ nondiscrimination protections in employment, housing, education, and public accommodations; transgender health and youth protections; reproductive and health access as it intersects with LGBTQ+ communities; civic engagement and electoral work to support pro-equality candidates and laws; community organizing and public education.
Primarily supported by individual donations and sustaining members, fundraising events, foundation and grant support routed through its affiliated 501(c)(3) PROMO Fund, and electoral activity funding through PROMO PAC.
Equality Federation, PROMO Fund (501(c)(3)), PROMO PAC, partner and allied organizations such as ACLU of Missouri, Planned Parenthood (regional affiliates), NAACP, PFLAG chapters, The GLO Center, Missouri Jobs with Justice, and senior leaders including the organization's Executive Director (Katy) and Sr. Director of Public Policy & Advocacy (Shira Berkowitz).
