The Public Ferry Coalition (PFC) is a national organization representing 25 public ferry operators across the United States. Its members collectively transport more than 52 million passengers and 13 million vehicles annually. The coalition advocates for the critical role ferries play in connecting urban and rural communities, reducing congestion, supporting economic activity, and providing essential and emergency transportation services. PFC works to advance best practices and secure federal investment in marine and shoreside infrastructure, innovation, sustainability, and system resiliency.
Increased federal funding and reauthorization for passenger ferry grant programs, rural ferry services, electric and low-emission ferry initiatives, infrastructure modernization, regulatory streamlining, and long-term federal investment in public ferry systems.
