About the Organization

The Puget Sound Regional Council (PSRC) is a regional planning agency serving the four-county Puget Sound region of Washington State, including King, Kitsap, Pierce, and Snohomish counties. As the federally designated metropolitan planning organization (MPO) for the region, PSRC develops long-range plans and policies related to transportation, economic development, growth management, and environmental sustainability to coordinate regional growth and infrastructure investments.

Policy Goals

PSRC focuses on regional transportation planning, infrastructure funding, land use and growth management, economic development, environmental sustainability, climate resilience, and coordination of federal transportation and economic development grants.

Funding

PSRC is primarily funded through federal and state grants, particularly from the U.S. Department of Transportation and U.S. Economic Development Administration, as well as membership dues from local governments within the region.

Affiliates

Member governments include King County, Kitsap County, Pierce County, Snohomish County, and numerous cities and towns within the Puget Sound region; it also works closely with the Washington State Department of Transportation and regional transit agencies.
