About the Organization

The Rhode Island Bankers Association (RIBA), founded in 1915, is the primary trade association representing state and national banks operating in Rhode Island. It advocates on behalf of its member institutions before the state legislature, executive agencies, and federal policymakers, and provides education, networking, and industry coordination to support a sound and competitive banking system in the state.

Policy Goals

Banking regulation, financial services legislation, consumer credit, mortgage lending, taxation, community reinvestment, commercial lending, trust services, and state and federal regulatory policy affecting financial institutions.

Funding

Membership dues from member banks and financial institutions.

Affiliates

American Bankers Association; member banks including Bank of America, Citizens Bank, TD Bank, Santander Bank, Webster Bank, Centreville Bank, and The Washington Trust Company.
