Rock Lake Conservation District is a local conservation district serving the Palouse region around St. John, Washington. Its mission is to provide technical and financial assistance to landowners and land users to implement sustainable resource-management practices that conserve soil, water, air, plants, and wildlife and to promote educational outreach and community-based natural resource stewardship.
Promotes soil and water conservation, agricultural best management practices, riparian and streambank restoration, erosion control and flood resilience, water-quality protection, habitat enhancement, invasive species management, and delivery of cost-share and technical assistance programs to landowners.
Primarily funded by state and federal grants and program funds (including allocations through the Washington State Conservation Commission and federal agencies such as USDA/NRCS), project-specific grants and cost-share dollars, and local program fees and donations.
