Description: The Safety Net Hospital Alliance of Florida is a statewide advocacy association representing Florida's safety‑net hospitals. It works to preserve and strengthen access to care for uninsured, underinsured and publicly insured residents by supporting member hospitals' roles as trauma centers, teaching hospitals and providers of specialty services, and by advocating for policies and funding that sustain those services. Type: Nonprofit trade association / hospital advocacy organization Policies: State and federal health policy affecting hospital financing and access to care, including Medicaid reimbursement and supplemental payments, Medicaid managed care policy, state appropriations and financing for hospitals, graduate medical education and residency funding, workforce development, and policies that support trauma, specialty and safety‑net services for vulnerable populations. Funding: Primarily funded by membership dues and support from its member hospital systems, supplemented by grants, program contracts and occasional philanthropic or government funding for specific initiatives. Affiliates: Prominent member hospital systems include Jackson Health System, UF Health (Shands), Tampa General Hospital and Broward Health, along with other Florida safety‑net hospitals and their leadership.
