About the Organization

The Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce is a membership-based business association, founded in 1882, representing more than 2,500 companies across the Seattle metropolitan region. The Chamber advances regional economic growth and competitiveness by offering networking, member services, workforce and small business programs, and policy advocacy aimed at an equitable, globally competitive economy.

Policy Goals

Typically pursues policies that affect the business climate: taxation and fiscal policy, transportation and infrastructure, land use and housing, workforce development and education, public safety, small business support and international trade/market access at the city, county, state and federal levels.

Funding

Primarily funded by membership dues and tiered sponsorships (Leading Investor/corporate investments), event and program fees, and service contracts.

Affiliates

Prominent member and investor organizations include Boeing, Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Starbucks, Nordstrom, Premera and the Port of Seattle; the Chamber also incubates and partners with affiliates such as the Alliance for Education, Leadership Tomorrow, Technology Alliance and the Washington Council on International Trade.
