About the Organization

The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) is the leading trade association for the U.S. semiconductor industry. It represents semiconductor manufacturers, designers, and related companies, and advocates for policies that strengthen U.S. leadership in chip manufacturing, design, and research, as well as broader economic competitiveness and national security.

Policy Goals

SIA typically pursues policies related to semiconductor manufacturing incentives, research and development, trade, export controls, tax policy, supply chain resilience, national security, workforce and immigration, environmental and permitting regulation, and intellectual property.

Funding

Primarily funded by membership dues and support from semiconductor companies and industry partners.

Affiliates

Prominent affiliates include major semiconductor companies that are members of SIA; public-facing leadership includes President and CEO Michael Robbins and, previously, John Neuffer.
