The Sierra Club Virginia Chapter is the state-level branch of the Sierra Club that organizes advocacy, grassroots campaigns, public education, and local policy work to protect Virginia’s air, water, lands, and communities; priorities include climate action, clean energy transition, conservation of public lands and waters, pollution reduction, and environmental justice.
Climate and clean energy policy, opposition to new fossil fuel infrastructure, promotion of renewable energy and energy efficiency, protection and stewardship of parks and public lands, water quality and Chesapeake Bay restoration, sustainable transportation, land-use and development advocacy, and environmental justice for affected communities.
Membership dues, individual donations, grants and foundation support, and fundraising events (often coordinated with the Sierra Club Foundation).
