About the Organization

Silver Valley Community Resource Center (SVCRC) is a grassroots nonprofit based in Kellogg, Idaho, founded in 1986 to represent residents living in and around the Bunker Hill Superfund area. SVCRC focuses on environmental justice and public health advocacy—documenting lead contamination, pushing for remediation and enforcement, promoting childhood lead testing and treatment, and organizing community education and services.

Policy Goals

Environmental cleanup and Superfund enforcement, lead poisoning prevention and childhood testing, community public health services (including push for a lead health clinic), environmental justice for indigenous and low-income residents, local economic and housing recovery tied to remediation

Funding

Primarily foundation grants and philanthropic support, supplemented by individual donations, membership contributions, and occasional public or project-specific grants

Affiliates

Coeur d'Alene Tribe, Idaho Lead Oversight Committee (community partners/initiatives), regional environmental and public health advocacy groups, local churches, unions and community leaders including long-time SVCRC advocates
