About the Organization

Southern Tier AIDS Program (STAP) is a New York–based nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention, education, testing, care coordination, and supportive services to individuals and communities in the Southern Tier region. Its mission is to improve the health and well-being of people living with or at risk for HIV/AIDS and to reduce the spread of HIV through outreach, advocacy, and client-centered services.

Policy Goals

Public health funding, HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment programs, harm reduction strategies, access to healthcare services, Medicaid and Ryan White funding, and policies supporting vulnerable and underserved populations.

Funding

Primarily funded through federal, state, and local government grants, including public health funding streams, as well as private donations and foundation support.

Affiliates

Works in partnership with the New York State Department of Health, local county health departments, community health providers, and regional social service organizations.
