The Steel Manufacturers Association (SMA) is a national trade association representing electric arc furnace (EAF) steel producers and suppliers in the United States. Its mission is to promote the interests of the domestic steel manufacturing industry, advocate for fair trade, support environmental sustainability through steel recycling, and advance policies that strengthen U.S. manufacturing competitiveness.
Trade enforcement and tariffs, domestic manufacturing policy, infrastructure investment, environmental and recycling regulations, energy policy, workforce development, and tax policies affecting industrial production.
