The Center for Black Health & Equity

About the Organization

The Center for Black Health & Equity is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization that advances health equity for Black communities through research, policy advocacy, community partnerships, leadership development, and public education. It focuses on eliminating racial and place-based health disparities and addressing social determinants of health.

Policy Goals

Promotes health equity and anti-racism in health care; policies to reduce chronic disease and maternal health disparities; expanding access to quality care and insurance; strengthening community-based prevention and behavioral health services; improving data disaggregation and community-informed research; increasing diversity in the health workforce.

Funding

Foundation grants, government grants and contracts, individual donations, corporate sponsorships, and program service revenue.

Affiliates

Partners with community health centers, Black-led advocacy groups and civil-rights organizations, academic public health departments and HBCUs, faith-based organizations, and health system partners.
