About the Organization

The Hardwood Federation is a Washington, D.C.-based trade association established in 2004 that serves as the unified advocacy voice of the U.S. hardwood industry. It represents dozens of national, regional, and state hardwood trade associations and thousands of small and family-owned businesses involved in the manufacturing, distribution, and sale of hardwood lumber, veneer, plywood, flooring, and related products. The Federation promotes policies that support healthy hardwood markets, sustainable forest management, and access to domestic timber resources.

Policy Goals

Federal legislative advocacy related to forestry management, access to public and private timberlands, environmental and forest health regulations, renewable biomass and energy policy, tax policy, trade, transportation, labor and immigration, and other issues affecting hardwood manufacturing and small businesses.

Funding

Corporate contributions from hardwood industry businesses and trade associations, along with donations to its affiliated Political Action Committee.

Affiliates

Hardwood Federation Political Action Committee (HFPAC), National Hardwood Lumber Association, North American Forest Foundation, Real American Hardwood Coalition, and numerous regional and national hardwood trade associations.
