About the Organization

The Heritage Foundation is a Washington, D.C.–based conservative public policy research organization whose stated mission is to promote public policies based on free enterprise, limited government, individual liberty, traditional American values, and a strong national defense. Project 2025 is a Heritage-led initiative to compile detailed governing plans, policy templates, and personnel recommendations intended to inform a conservative presidential administration.

Policy Goals

Advocates for conservative domestic and foreign policies including lower taxes and limited regulation, free‑market economic policies, deregulation, conservative judicial nominations and originalist legal approaches, stronger national defense, restrictive immigration policies, energy independence and expanded fossil fuel development, school choice and education reform, and socially conservative positions on issues such as religious liberty and abortion.

Funding

Primarily funded by private donations from individuals and charitable foundations, supplemented by corporate contributions, grants, event and publication revenue, and support for affiliated nonprofit/advocacy entities.

Affiliates

Heritage Action for America (advocacy arm), Project 2025 (Heritage initiative); leadership and senior fellows include high‑profile conservative figures and former government officials associated with the organization.
