About the Organization

The Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law is a national non-profit civil rights organization founded in 1963 at the request of President John F. Kennedy to enlist the private bar’s leadership and resources in combating racial discrimination. Its mission is to secure equal justice under law through litigation, public policy advocacy, and public education.

Policy Goals

Civil rights enforcement, voting rights protection, fair housing, educational equity, economic justice, criminal justice reform, and combating discrimination in employment and public accommodations
