About the Organization

The Obesity Society (TOS) is a professional scientific society focused on obesity research, prevention, treatment, education, and advocacy. It brings together researchers, clinicians, educators, and advocates to advance evidence-based care and reduce stigma related to obesity.

Policy Goals

Obesity prevention and treatment; public health and clinical care; research funding and scientific standards; access to evidence-based care; obesity-related education; anti-stigma and weight-bias policies; health policy and advocacy related to obesity as a chronic disease.

Funding

Primarily funded by membership dues, conference and event revenue, journal and educational activities, and grants/sponsorships.
