The Truck Renting and Leasing Association (TRALA) is a voluntary, national nonprofit trade association founded in 1978 to serve as the unified voice of the truck renting and leasing industry. Headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, TRALA represents approximately 500 leasing and rental firms and more than 100 suppliers. Its mission is to foster a positive legislative and regulatory climate in which companies engaged in commercial truck leasing, vehicle finance leasing, and consumer truck rentals can compete without discrimination in the North American marketplace.
Transportation and commercial vehicle regulations, tax policy affecting leasing and depreciation, environmental and emissions standards for commercial fleets, vehicle registration and titling rules, insurance and liability standards, interstate commerce and trucking regulations, and other federal and state policies impacting truck rental and leasing operations
Membership dues from truck leasing and rental companies and industry supplier members, along with revenue from meetings and industry programs
Member companies include major firms such as Ryder System, Penske Truck Leasing, U-Haul International, Budget Truck Rental, Enterprise Commercial Trucks, Idealease, NationaLease, PacLease, and Mack Leasing/Volvo Truck Leasing
