The Union Veterans Council (UVC) is a constituency group of the AFL-CIO that advocates for the rights and interests of military veterans and service members within the labor movement. Its mission is to ensure that veterans have access to good union jobs, quality healthcare, education benefits, and strong labor protections, while promoting policies that support transitioning service members and military families.
The organization supports policies related to veterans’ employment and job training, workforce development, collective bargaining rights, healthcare access, GI Bill protections, retirement security, and fair wages. It also advocates for stronger labor standards and improved transition assistance for service members entering the civilian workforce.
