About the Organization

The Utah Education Association (UEA) is Utah’s largest professional organization for public school educators, representing more than 18,000 teachers and school staff. UEA advocates for strong, equitable public education, professional supports for educators, and policies intended to improve student outcomes and school working conditions across the state.

Policy Goals

Advocates for increased K–12 public school funding and fair school finance, higher teacher pay and benefits, reduced class sizes, student supports (mental health and special education), educator professional development and evaluation reforms, opposition to privatization and voucher expansion, and engagement in state education governance and regulatory issues.

Funding

Primarily funded by member dues and membership-related fees, supplemented by voluntary contributions to its political action committee, fundraising, grants, and occasional support from national affiliate programs.

Affiliates

National Education Association (NEA), local district-level teacher associations across Utah, and the Utah Education Association Political Action Committee (UEA-PAC); collaborative relationships with education advocacy and parent organizations in the state.
