The Vapor Technology Association (VTA) is a national trade association, founded in 2015, representing manufacturers, distributors, retailers, suppliers and other businesses in the U.S. vapor and alternative nicotine products industry. VTA’s stated mission is to defend adult access to vapor products, promote science‑based regulation and tobacco harm reduction, protect independent vape retailers and combat illicit or unsafe products through federal and state advocacy, regulatory engagement, economic analysis and litigation support.
Advocates for science‑based federal and state regulation of vaping and alternative nicotine products, protection of adult access to flavored products (including restrictions via adult‑only sales), harm reduction and smoking cessation policy, enforcement against illicit/unsafe imports, opposition to broad flavor bans and punitive taxation, and support for regulatory clarity for manufacturers and small businesses.
Primarily funded by membership dues and fees from vapor product manufacturers, distributors, vape shop owners and related industry stakeholders, supplemented by event revenue and advocacy contributions.
