About the Organization

The Virginia Board for People with Disabilities is a state-appointed advisory board that works to promote the rights, inclusion, and full participation of individuals with developmental disabilities in Virginia. The Board advises the Governor and General Assembly on disability policy, supports systemic change initiatives, and partners with communities to advance self-determination, independence, and equal opportunity.

Disability rights, developmental disability services, community integration, inclusive education, employment access, healthcare access, transportation accessibility, and protections under federal and state disability laws

Federal funding through the U.S. Administration for Community Living and state government appropriations
