Washington Korean American Grocers Association

About the Organization

Statewide non-profit mutual-benefit trade association representing Korean-American grocery and liquor store owners in Washington State. The organization provides member services including advocacy before local and state government, industry training and education, cooperative purchasing and vendor outreach, trade shows and member events, scholarship programs, and community engagement; headquartered in Federal Way with multiple regional chapters across the state.

Policy Goals

Typically pursues small-business and retail-focused policies: local and state retail licensing and permitting, food-safety and public-health regulation affecting grocers, business taxation and fee issues, workforce and immigration concerns for small employers, supply-chain and import rules for ethnic foods, regulatory compliance assistance, and community economic-development and public-safety matters that affect neighborhood retailers.
