About the Organization

The Washington Office on Latin America (WOLA) is a nonprofit research and advocacy organization focused on promoting human rights, democracy, and social justice in Latin America and the Caribbean. Founded in 1974, WOLA conducts policy research and engages with U.S. and regional policymakers to advance human rights protections, accountable governance, and equitable development.

Human rights protection, democratic governance, rule of law, anti-corruption, migration policy, citizen security, drug policy reform, and U.S.-Latin America foreign policy
