About the Organization

The Washington Senate Democrats are the partisan caucus of Democratic members in the Washington State Senate. The caucus organizes Democratic senators to develop policy priorities, negotiate budgets and legislation, coordinate floor strategy and messaging, and represent Democratic policy positions to constituents and stakeholders across the state.

Policy Goals

State-level Democratic priorities such as increased funding for K–12 and higher education, expanded access to health care and behavioral health services, affordable housing and renter protections, labor and collective bargaining rights, climate and clean-energy policies, progressive taxation and revenue measures, transportation and infrastructure investments, public safety and criminal justice reform, and protections for reproductive and civil rights.

Funding

Caucus operations are supported by state legislative resources and appropriations for staffing and office support; political and electoral activities are funded through affiliated Democratic campaign committees and party fundraising, plus contributions from allied interest groups and labor unions.
