About the Organization

The Washington Senate Democrats (Senate Democratic Caucus) is the formal caucus of Democratic members of the Washington State Senate that organizes members, develops and advances the caucus policy agenda, coordinates legislative strategy and messaging, staffs committee priorities, and represents the caucus in public and with stakeholders.

Policy Goals

Typically pursues state-level progressive Democratic priorities including increased public education funding, expanded access to health care and Medicaid, climate and environmental protections, affordable housing and homelessness solutions, workers' rights and pro-labor legislation, progressive taxation and revenue measures, criminal justice and equity reforms, reproductive rights, and investments in infrastructure and social services.

Funding

Operates using legislative staff and budgetary allocations for caucus operations supplemented by member contributions and coordinated fundraising through the state Democratic Party and allied campaign committees and political action committees.
