The Washington State Hospital Association (WSHA) is a nonprofit trade association that represents more than 100 hospitals and health systems across Washington state. WSHA’s mission is to advocate for hospitals, support quality improvement and equity in care, strengthen workforce capacity, and help members maintain financial and operational sustainability so they can serve their communities.
Advocacy on hospital and health system priorities including Medicaid and Medicare reimbursement, state budget and tax issues affecting hospitals, hospital financing and capital funding, workforce development and retention, behavioral health integration and care transitions, emergency preparedness and public health, regulatory relief and administrative simplification, health equity and access to care.
Primarily funded by membership dues from hospitals and health systems, plus revenue from conferences and education, data and analytic services, contracts/grants, and sponsorships.
American Hospital Association; Washington Hospital Services (WHS, WSHA’s services arm); major Washington health systems and member hospitals such as UW Medicine, Providence, MultiCare, PeaceHealth, and Virginia Mason Franciscan Health.
