Wilderness Watch is a national conservation organization dedicated to protecting and preserving America’s designated wilderness areas. Its mission is to ensure that the National Wilderness Preservation System remains wild and free from development, motorized use, and other human impacts that it believes undermine the intent of the 1964 Wilderness Act.
Wilderness protection, public lands management, enforcement of the Wilderness Act, opposition to motorized and mechanized access in designated wilderness areas, habitat conservation, and limiting commercial and infrastructure development on federal lands.
Primarily funded through individual donations and member contributions, with additional support from foundations and charitable grants.
Works in collaboration with other public lands and conservation organizations and grassroots wilderness advocacy groups.
Non-profit organization
