The Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting wildlife through the conservation of invertebrates and their habitats. Founded in 1971 and named after the extinct Xerces blue butterfly, the organization conducts science-based research, advocacy, habitat restoration, and public education focused on pollinators, endangered species, and reducing pesticide impacts.
