The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) is a U.S.-based pro-Israel advocacy organization that promotes and defends the state of Israel, works to strengthen U.S.–Israel relations, combats antisemitism, and opposes efforts it views as delegitimizing Israel through public education, litigation, lobbying and grassroots organizing. Type: Non-profit organization (501(c)(3)) with an affiliated political action committee (ZOA PAC).
Typically advances policies supporting a robust U.S.–Israel relationship and Israeli security, opposing the BDS movement and other delegitimization efforts, combating antisemitism, supporting pro-Israel legislation and judicial/administrative nominees, and engaging in legal and public-advocacy efforts on Israel-related issues.
Primarily funded by private donations, membership dues and philanthropic contributions; political expenditures are financed separately through its affiliated PAC.
Affiliated with ZOA PAC; has worked with and sometimes clashed with other U.S. pro-Israel organizations; notable long-serving leaders have included Morton Klein.
